How Data is Being Collected
Images
Images can optionally be attached to Chat or MMS messages.
Should a user choose to send an image, images are transmitted securely via the
TeleCloud API and may be stored as part of the users message history. This
is not a requirement, the user must opt in to allow permission to upload the
images they explicitly select.
TeleCloud Android and iOS also uses Gravatar, only when enabled
via System Settings, which is a service that provides avatar images linked to
an encrypted version of the user's email address. This means that, only when
Gravatar use is enabled, we encrypt each contact's email address and send it to
Gravatar to try and retrieve an avatar image. Encrypted email addresses cannot
be directly or indirectly attributed to any person or persons, and we only send
it to Gravatar, email addresses are never transmitted in plain text. As with
phone contacts, a user can revoke Gravatar access at any time in System Settings,
and the app experience is not hindered or interrupted.
